The Esker Festival Orchestra meets again this summer for its third season, rehearsing at NUI Galway from 26th - 29th June. This year marks The Galway Music Residency and the Galway ConTempo Quartet's first collaboration with the Esker Festival Orchestra.
On Friday 10th June, at a ceremony in NUI Galway, The Galway ConTempo Quartet were conferred with Honorary Doctorates in recognition of 13 years of music and education in the West of Ireland.
The Galway Music Residency is delighted to be working with the Contemporary Music Centre (CMC) and Concorde Ensemble by providing musicians and performances for the annual meeting and conference of the International Association of Music Information Centres (IAMIC), hosted this year by CMC at NUI Galway.
In celebration of Connemara-based artist Brían Bourke in his 80th year, The Galway ConTempo Quartet will perform a very special concert during his exhibition, Obsessions – Preoccupations – Themes and Variation, in the Galway Arts Centre on Thursday 9th June at 6pm.
