Summer Family Lunchtime with ConTempo

The Galway Music Residency presents a very special Family Lunchtime with ConTempo in St Nicholas’ Collegiate Church on Tuesday 5th July at 1:10pm. Celebrating the summer, The Galway ConTempo Quartet will perform a fun, lively concert for all the family.

From Mozart’s “Eine Kleine Nachtmusik” to Strauss’ “Neue Pizzicato Polka”, this lunchtime programme is set to delight children and adults alike this July. Irish composer David Flynn’s piece “The Cranning” will be a special treat, showing how a string quartet can sound like the Uilleann Pipes! The sounds of the season will also fill St. Nicholas’ Collegiate church with Haydn’s string quartet “The Bird”. To finish, The Galway ConTempo Quartet will perform a very distinctive piece from their native land, Romania – “The Men’s Dance”.

Supported by The Arts Council, NUI Galway and Galway City and County Councils, admission to this event is free, open to all and early arrival is recommended. Our Lunchtime Concert series will continue on 2nd August with guest performers the WhistleBlast Quartet for another family-friendly event.
