Introducing The Guest Residency Programme

Last season, we introduced The Guest Residency Programme and we have been delighted with the response we have received. Guest artists included Irish Soprano Deirdre Moynihan, Israeli Percussionist Chen Zimbalista, Irish Guitarist Alec O’ Leary and Dutch Reed Quintet Calefax. Dave Flynn was the final guest resident and the first resident composer in the programme. Each guest resident comes to Galway and works with local students before performing in a solo or collaborative concert in the city or county.

Building on the success of this programme, we are delighted that in our new season we will present some extraordinary guest artists in Galway – Timo Kinuneen, accordion player from Finland will visit in May; guitarist Alec O’Leary will tour Kilkenny/Wexford/Galway with ConTempo in September; euphonium player Gary Curtin will teach brass intruments students at our Autumn School in November and clarinettist Paul Roe will visit next February.
